Second stop Port Stephens - Whale watching

Hey there,

how is your day going so far?

We're still in Port Stephens which is a big natural harbour and also the home from around 150 bottlenose dolphins, whales, seals, etc.
I really like it here, there are a lot of activities to do and a lot of things to see.

For example, whale watching. You can book different tours in Nelson Bay at the "Dock C d' Albora Marina Booking Office" with speedboats, small boats, big boats, etc.

We decided to go with the speedboat which was definitely the right decision. There is just space for 12 people on board which made the whole tour more relaxed I guess and the other good thing is of course ... the SPEED. That means even if you can't see any whales you'll have a lot of fun on the boat.

It's whale watching time.

Certainly, you ask yourself "If I can't see whales for sure, why should I book the tour then ?" So, first of all, there will never be a guarantee that you'll see the whales but if you won't see any, don't worry about it, you'll get a free voucher for another trip.
Btw the season for whale watching goes from May to November and the day we went was the last day of the season so we were really lucky that we saw 2 whales, mother & child we guess.
Of course, we took our equipment with us but it was really hard to get a good shot from the whales.
Anyway, we really enjoyed our whale watching tour. :)

But that's not all that you can do in Port Stephens, they have an amazing range of activities, like swimming with the dolphins, scuba diving, kayaking, parasailing, sand boarding, 4WD driving on the amazing sand dunes, camel & horse riding and a lot more.

There are also a lot of nice cycling and walking trails and also many nice beaches. We went to Zenith Beach which is in between of Tomaree Head (You should definitely check out the TOMAREE HEAD LOOKOUT when you go there) and Wreck Beach. I would call it "Lonely Beach", perfect for flying the drone to get some nice shots and that's what we did. I had another "drone-flying-lesson" and afterward, we went to Shoal Beach where we could watch the sunset.

It was a really nice and relaxed day, perfect after our Blue Mountains trip.

Actually, we were supposed to go swimming with the Dolphins today but the tours are booked out. :( But the weather isn't nice anyway, so it's a perfect day for work and editing our content from the last days. Yeeees... that means that our first Vlog is coming soon!

Stay tuned for it and enjoy the rest of your week!
